What is Restro OS?

Restro OS is a restaurant operating system for restaurants and cafés in India: one system where the menu, the orders, the counter and the kitchen all talk to each other.

Running a restaurant means doing ten things at once. The menu lives in one place, orders in another, the bill on a third screen, and the kitchen is shouting over all of it. We thought it could be simpler.

Seven months ago that was an empty folder. Today it's Restro OS: a web dashboard for your menu, orders, tables and team, and a desktop app for your counter and kitchen.

What do restaurants get on launch day?

Restaurants get a QR menu, live ordering, counter billing and team roles, all on the same account.

  • Menu Plus: a QR menu guests open on their phone. You edit it once in the dashboard, and the change is live everywhere.
  • Smart Orders: guests order from the table, and every order shows up live on the counter and kitchen screens.
  • POS: billing at the counter, with bills that show first and token numbers on receipts.
  • Your team, your rules: five simple team roles, and sign-in with a 6-digit code instead of a password.
  • Every device in step: browser, Windows desktop and Android stay in sync on the same account.

How was Restro OS built?

Restro OS went from its first line of code in March 2026 to launch on October 2, 2026, in about seven months.

When Milestone
March 2026 The first line of code. A QR menu, categories, guest ordering, a live order screen, sign-in and onboarding in the first week.
April 2026 The first version goes live on the web. Real use showed us what restaurants need, and a lot got rebuilt.
May – August 2026 A POS and kitchen app for the desktop, modifiers, a rebuilt database, and clear product names: Menu Plus and Smart Orders.
September 19, 2026 First public release, version 1.5.0, on the browser and the desktop.
September 2026 Code sign-in, five team roles, rewritten Terms and Privacy Policy, receipts with token numbers.
October 2, 2026 Launch day. Restro OS opens to every restaurant.

What comes next?

Launch day isn't the finish line. Every feature, improvement and fix lands in the changelog as it ships, and much of what comes next will come from the restaurants using Restro OS every day.

Thank you to everyone who tested it, broke it, and told us what to fix. This is just the start.
