Restro OS is live.
Today we officially launch the operating system for modern restaurants. Here's how we got here.
Running a restaurant means doing ten things at once. The menu lives in one place, orders in another, the bill on a third screen, and the kitchen is shouting over all of it. We thought it could be simpler: one system where the menu, the orders, the counter and the kitchen all talk to each other.
Seven months ago that was an empty folder. Today it's Restro OS: a web dashboard for your menu, orders, tables and team, and a desktop app for your counter and kitchen.
The road to launch
March 2026
The first line of code
Restro OS started as a simple idea: a menu a guest could open with a QR code. Within the first week it had categories, QR codes, guest ordering, a live order screen, sign-in and onboarding.

The first version goes live
The first version went live on the web. Real use showed us what restaurants need, and a lot of what we had built got rebuilt.
May – August 2026
Building the counter and the kitchen
We reworked onboarding, built a POS and kitchen app for the desktop, added modifiers, redesigned the database from the ground up, and settled on clear product names: Menu Plus and Smart Orders.

The first public release
Version 1.5.0 shipped on the browser and the desktop. You could manage your whole menu, share it with one QR code, and follow every order live.

Getting ready for launch
Sign-in with a 6-digit code instead of a password. Five simple team roles. Rewritten Terms and a clear Privacy Policy. On the desktop, bills that show first, token numbers on receipts, and every device on your account staying in step.

Launch day
Today Restro OS is officially open to every restaurant.
Launch day isn't the finish line. Every feature, improvement and fix will keep landing in the changelog as it ships, and much of what comes next will come from the restaurants using Restro OS every day.
Thank you to everyone who tested it, broke it, and told us what to fix. This is just the start.
